Stats
Warrior stats will depend on the role you want to play in a group.
Regardless of which role you want to take, Stamina is your number one stat. Stamina increases your health points. Both tanking warriors and dps warriors can use a high amount of health. Many raiding guilds will look at a warrior's stamina when deciding eligibility for entrance to their guild.
Agility and Strength are secondary to Stamina. Agility will increase your armor and your critical hit chance, making it a useful stat for warriors who are planning on tanking. Strength increases your attack power and block chance, making it most useful for dps warriors.
Effects
When you begin to find gear specialized to the role you are wanting to play, you will look more at your effects than you will your stats.
A tanking warrior will want a high hit rating and a high defense rating. You want to be able to keep your enemy's attention on you and to sustain as much damage as possible from the enemy. Effects that increase the block rating of your shield will help as well. Speed in a one-handed weapon is also useful. The speed is to help you hit faster, therefore generate rage faster.
A dps warrior will want an increased critical strike rating. If you are using a two-handed weapon, hit rating will be useful as well. This enables you to have a higher chance to land hits with your weapon and to do a lot of damage with each hit.
For a dual-wielding dps warrior, attack power and an increased critical strike rating are most helpful. This allows you to do as much damage as possible with every hit.
