A Restoration Druid who cares about picking up the best gear going into season four.
You have full season 3 restoration gears already, or you are prepared to grind full season 2 restoration gears and then upgrade it to season four.
If neither of these applies to you, you will not find this blog relevant. It's pretty much just the personal math we did to figure out where we wanted to spend points on our Druid - we figured we'd post it in that it'd be useful to anyone else playing a Restoration Druid.
In effect, all gears are not created equal. You do not have an infinite amount of arena points to spend, and thus it makes sense for you to pick up the best gear choices first.
If you are in a combination of season 2 (or lower) and season 3, it is always worth upgrading your season 2 (or lower) to season 3 you have.
This uses the official Blizzard itemization point spend, adds up the total points allocated to each item, and divides the final item value by its arena point cost in order to weight it correctly. This weighting is important as obviously season 3 to season 4 helms are better than s3-s4 gloves, but not enough better to justify buying it over gloves for the extra arena point cost.
If you weight stamina at 1 rather than 0.66, the results are still the same, but slightly closer. If you want to change the weighting more than that, you're going to have to go through my spreadsheet yourself and screw with stuff.
Sockets are not considered - all seasons of gear have equal sockets. If you are in season 3 gear / rare gems and upgrading to season 4 / epic gems, it doesn't make a difference as to what piece you upgrade first, because none of the differences are big enough. But it could theoretically do so for other classes and so on.
This also does not consider armor. We have no idea how Blizzard weights it, and assuming you're in season 3 gear anyway each piece is from 25 to 35 armor. It's not going to change any of the calculations.
However, if you are having problems filling in some gear - hopefully that we will give you some ideas. We have a level 80 Restoration Druid with 2-pieces of tier 7, nearly full Naxx gear, some of the best gear currently available. This Druid also has a feral set of gear started, but not nearly as good as the restoration set (probably about half epics). And also we have a level 71 Rogue with decent gear from TBC, including much ZA gear, as well as mostly season 3 arena gear to make leveling quite easy. Both of these characters have their epic flying training, and mounts (swift flight form for the Druid), and about 3000 gold more on the account total. There are several other characters on the account. What is more, the only one possibly worth mentioning is a level 64 Hunter. All of these characters are Alliance, and please contact us with any further questions you may have. Needless to say, a lot of time has gone into this account, so we are looking for decent offers, but anything will be considered.
The more the information you get from Restoration Druid gear, the better you get the hang of it without difficulties. But we more or less talk about this content in detail because of the limited time and space, so you want to get the full content, the best way for you is to come to our cheap wow gold site to look for your desired information which we enjoy high reputation right now.
