How to Create Macro in WOW

What is the meaning of Macro? By definition, a Macro is a non-compulsory tool that has been incorporated into the game in an attempt to make game play easier for everybody. Some players swear by them; however others feel that using them makes you one notch below a button-pushing robot. In the heat of battle, one second can make the difference between a boss being downed and the group being wiped. If used correctly, macros can ensure that the latter of the two rarely occurs.
Get to know macro, but how to create a macro is a issue of concern. Now we briefly make mention of some tips for you. It is always advisable that you experiment with Macros before putting them in use. Not only will this ensure that your Macro will work, but will allow you to create new Macros fast and efficiently.
To create a new Macro, simply hit the "New" button once you have the Macro window open. You will be prompted to create a name for the Macro and a picture that represents your Macro. You have a choice of almost every icon used within World of Warcraft. If you don't have the time to select one that suits your Macro best, then click the first icon. This will automatically assign you am appropriate icon.
It's time for you to enter the text of your Macro. In effect, a Macro without text is useless. Just like your character, it has to be told what to do. Otherwise it will just sit there, and no matter how many times you press it, trust me, it will do nothing.
Probably you're aware of the emote system used within WoW. It's only fitting that for your first Macro you incorporate an emotion. For example, if you wish to wave, you would normally type "wave" and your character would replicate a wave. This is the same for Macros. Drag the Macro icon to a place where you can use it then hit exit to close the Macro window. Now every time you his that icon, your character will do a little wave.
Each character can create a maximum of 54 Macros, among them, 36 in the general tab and 18 in the character tab. However, the 36 in the general tab are accessible to all the characters on your account. By some reason, you need more than 18 macros; therefore you will have to eat into your allowance of the 36 shared macros. Also, you can only have 36 Macros at any giving time, which is incorrect and has not been updated by Blizzard as of yet.
Many items have a "use" ability incorporated into them. This can be an item you are currently wearing which, if clicked on, can offer that additional helping hand in times of need. Trinkets often have "use" ability, offering more spell power/rage/energy/mana/threat for a certain amount of time. These can be extremely advantageous for a player, however due to the fact a player has to click on the item to spark the item's ability; they are often underused and underappreciated. That is where Macros come in handy.
If you wish to use an item within a macro, the "use" command will do the trick. However, you have to be carrying the item at that particular time and you have to be in a fit state to use it. In addition to this, you can simply decide to "use" a bag slot. This means that whichever object happens to be in your selected bag slot will be used when you press your Macro. Typing in the number that is associated with that particular bag slot will allow you to use that item.
This is useful since you are able to easily change which item this Macro refers to. If, for example, you had food in that slot, but had used it all, you could simply move more food into that slot instead of creating a new Macro.
