Be a Death Knight in the World of Warcraft, Runeforging is regarded as the equivalent of Rogue poisons. By using a runeforge - which only exist in ebon hold, the death knight starting and trainer area, you are able to imbue your rune-weapon with an 'enchant' that lasts until changed. This provides very substantial passive combat bonuses to death knights, and you'll want to choose which runeforged-effect that will best compliment your play-style.
In the Wrath of the Lich King, there is going to be a new entity all together called Runeforging that will allow Death Knights the ability to modify their weapons with certain runes instead of having rune swapping.
